This course will focus on a journey to design meaningful making experiences that are tied to Common Core state standards for elementary mathematics. Inspired by the Making Across the Curriculum project, Megan will show how teachers can plan and implement experiences that help students understand that math is not something to simply do, but is in fact something that helps make sense of the world. Participants will dive deeply into two maker-centered learning approaches, engage with Thinking Routines as they design a product, and begin to plan a maker-centered learning experience for their own students. Capacity: 10
